Frequently asked
Questions we hear most.
Straight answers on cost, what the AI does, how long the memorial lasts, and how LifeStoree differs from the older memorial sites.
What is LifeStoree?
LifeStoree is an AI-first memorial product. A family uploads photographs and a eulogy, and our AI composes a one-of-one memorial website for the person being remembered. Every memorial is unique, hosted for at least 20 years, and shareable via a public link or an optional QR plaque mounted on a headstone.
How much does LifeStoree cost?
There are two tiers, both paid one time in Australian dollars. The 20-year single-payment tier is AU$429 and covers the full hosting period with no renewals. The annual tier is AU$349 and includes the first year of hosting, then AU$5 per year after that. The optional stainless-steel QR plaque is AU$79 and ships Australia-wide.
Is the memorial hosted forever?
Not literally forever, but we contractually commit to at least 20 years of hosting from the date of publication. If LifeStoree ever closes, we give 12 months notice, export every memorial automatically, and publish the code to run the memorial as static files on any host so no family's grief is abandoned. The full policy is at lifestoree.com/permanence.
Can I add a QR code to a headstone?
Yes. The AU$79 add-on is a laser-engraved stainless steel QR plaque designed to mount on a headstone, urn, bench, or keepsake. It is weather-proof and corrosion-resistant. When someone scans it, they land on the memorial page. The plaque URL is rewritable, so if you ever change the slug, the physical plaque keeps working.
Does LifeStoree use AI to write the biography?
Yes. Our in-house AI, named Sage, reads the eulogy you provide and extracts structured facts about family, career, hobbies, personality, and memories. It then drafts a warm 150 to 400 word biography in the third person. You can edit every sentence before publishing. Sage is built on Anthropic Claude (Sonnet 4.5 for narrative writing, Haiku 4.5 for photo analysis) and is explicitly prompted never to invent names, dates, places, or events.
What does the AI actually decide?
Sage picks the hero photograph, the portrait photograph, up to ten narrative story chapters (each paired with the right photo from your uploads), the colour palette, and one of three design languages (Cinematic, Album, Gallery) based on the tone and era of your photos. You can preview all three templates and override Sage's choice before publishing.
What do I need to provide?
Basic details (name, dates, optional epitaph), a eulogy or a handful of written notes about the person, and some photographs. Photos can be uploaded directly (JPEG, PNG, WebP, up to 12 per memorial) or imported from a Google Drive folder. The more photos and the more detail in the eulogy, the richer the composition.
How long does it take?
Typically 10 to 30 minutes end to end. The AI work (extracting story, analysing each photo, composing the layout) runs in the background while you proceed; most families publish in under half an hour. You can save a draft, close the tab, and come back to finish later.
Can family members contribute?
Yes. The account owner can invite other family members as co-administrators. Admins can add photos, edit chapters, approve guestbook messages, and order additional plaques. Visitors to the published memorial can light virtual candles, leave written messages, and react to other messages. Guestbook submissions are AI-moderated to catch spam and abuse before they appear.
Can I edit the memorial after publishing?
Yes. From the dashboard you can edit any field, upload more photos, rewrite a chapter, or change the music, at any time. Changes are live within a minute. There is no limit on edits.
Can I export my data?
Yes. From any memorial in your dashboard, you can download a complete archive at any time. The archive is plain JSON and includes every photograph's CDN URL, the AI-composed layout, every guestbook message, every candle lit, and the full composition. The format is readable by any tool and portable to any host.
How is LifeStoree different from Legacy.com, ForeverMissed, or Keeper?
Every other memorial platform asks you to pick a theme from a dropdown; Sage composes a unique page from scratch using your photos and eulogy, so no two memorials look the same. We also do not hide the guestbook behind a paywall (Legacy.com), do not delete memorials without warning (ForeverMissed's practice), and publish our permanence policy in writing. Single-payment AU$429 includes 20 years of hosting with no renewals.
Is the memorial public or private?
By default, published memorials are public and indexable so family and friends can find them. The owner can change this to link-only access from the dashboard. A QR plaque always points to a public link (otherwise nobody who scans it could read the memorial).
How does the guestbook moderation work?
Every guestbook submission is classified by an AI moderator as sincere, spam, abuse, or uncertain. Sincere messages are auto-approved and appear on the memorial immediately. Anything else lands in the dashboard for the owner to review. This solves the common complaint of memorial sites that take days to approve messages.
