Terms

What you can expect from us, and what we ask in return.

By creating a LifeStoree account or publishing a memorial, you agree to these terms. Plain language, no small print. Last updated April 2026.

The service

LifeStoree helps families build AI-composed memorial pages for people they have lost. You provide the photographs and the story; our system composes a published page, hosts it, and lets visitors leave guestbook entries and candles. Optional add-ons (QR plaque, music, charity link) are listed on the pricing page.

Your account

One adult creates and owns each memorial. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. You can invite additional family administrators from the dashboard.

Your content

Everything you upload, including photographs, eulogy text, story notes and guestbook entries, remains your property (or the property of the family members who contributed it). By using LifeStoree you grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to operate the service, including showing it on the published memorial page and archiving it for data-export purposes.

You confirm that you have the right to upload each photograph and every piece of text, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, privacy or moral rights.

Acceptable use

LifeStoree is for genuine remembrance. You agree not to use the service to:
  • Publish memorials for people who did not exist, or fabricate biographical information about a real person
  • Upload content that harasses, defames or breaches the privacy of any living person
  • Upload illegal content, hate speech, violent or sexual content, or anything that exploits a minor
  • Spam the guestbook of other memorials
  • Attempt to access accounts or data you do not own, or interfere with our infrastructure

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that breach these rules, after reasonable notice where possible.

Payment

The memorial is a one-time purchase in Australian dollars. You can choose the annual hosting tier (first year included, then $5 per year) or the single-payment 20-year tier. The QR plaque is an optional add-on. Stripe processes the payment and issues the receipt.

We do not offer refunds once a memorial has been composed and published, because the AI work and hosting commitment have already been provided. If something goes wrong on our side we will make it right, case by case. Email us.

Hosting and permanence

We commit to hosting every published memorial for a minimum of twenty years from the date of publication, as detailed in our permanence promise. If LifeStoree ever ceases to operate, we will give twelve months' notice, export every memorial to a portable archive, and publish the tooling needed to run a LifeStoree page as static files on any host.

We may briefly take memorials offline for maintenance or to comply with a legal request. We will restore service as quickly as possible.

AI disclosure

LifeStoree uses Anthropic models to analyse photographs and extract story structure from eulogies. The generated biography and page layout is a composition of facts you provided. We do not invent biographical details. You can edit everything the AI produces before publishing, and after publishing from the dashboard.

Deletion

You can delete any memorial, and your entire account, at any time from the dashboard. Deletion removes the memorial from public access immediately and purges the underlying data within thirty days, except where we are required by law to retain billing records (seven years).

Liability

We operate the service to a reasonable standard but we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. To the extent permitted by Australian law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the memorial in question. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes

We may update these terms over time. Material changes are announced on the dashboard and by email. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
